Question 1: Why does some of the chocolate have marks on them?
Answer: It is called a chocolate bloom. Chocolate blooming is the term we use when we see that the chocolate has dusting or streaking across the surface. There are two types of blooms – fat bloom and sugar bloom.
Fat bloom can be identified by greyish or whitish streaks on the surface of the chocolate that typically feels slick. This blooming happens when the chocolate has been exposed to warm temperatures. Once the chocolate is warm, the cocoa butter in the chocolate softens and separates from other ingredients in the chocolate. Once it rises to the surface and re-solidifies, it creates the bloom. Fat bloom is the most common type of chocolate blooming.
Sugar bloom can be characterized as a dry, hard white surface film on chocolate. Sugar bloom is caused by moisture in the chocolate coating. The sugar absorbs the moisture, dissolves, and evaporates. The sugar then forms larger crystals on the surface of the chocolate, which causes this dusty layer.
And because this is a small home-based business that works with normal kitchen equipment and not large and expensive equipment blooming marks on our chocolates will be a common occurrence.
Question 2: How long will it take for my order to ship?
Answer: Orders are processed within 1-3 business days, and should be delivered to your door between 1 and 5 business days depending on where you live. It will be best to check with the courier company. We will provide you with a tracking number as soon as we have it. After your order has been placed, you will receive an order confirmation to the email address provided during checkout. Once your order has been processed, you will receive a second email from us with additional information, thereafter from the couriers stating that a shipping label has been created. You will then receive an email stating that the parcel has left our studio and is on its way.
Question 3: Can I cancel or change my order after I have checked out?
Answer: Cancellation of orders by the client will attract a 10% administration fee. Should you need to make changes to your order please email us at admin@twosassykidz.co.za
We strongly recommend you review your order before it is submitted as we can not modify or make changes to an order after it is submitted.
